Dandruff 101

If you’ve never had dandruff well aren’t ya a lucky ducky! Todays post is dedicated to DANDRUFF.

The reason for this post is basically because i wished someone was open about dandruff. Dandruff can be a pretty embarrassing thing. I have struggled with dandruff for about a year now and it has been a pain in my butt!!!

I want to share with you some things that i have found have worked with curing my dandruff.

  1. HEALTH (MY NUMBER ONE TIP!)

Truly what we put in our bodies shows in our skin, hair, and nails. I’ve noticed that around the time i started getting dandruff is when i started eating more junk food and just not all healthy. Once i figured out that food was one of my biggest problems and what made my dandruff worse, i decided to eat a little healthier. I didn’t go on full blown diets, because i just don’t do diets hahah but i definitely did start drinking more water, eating more fruits. I actually found that just by drinking one smoothie a day my problem was almost gone!

  2. THE WAY YOU SHOWER

Ok, this is bit weird but i use to shower with boiling hot water. Like the warmest the water can get…yeah, that’s how i use to shower. I noticed that really hot water dried up my scalp real bad so once i started rinsing my hair with decent temperature water the better it got.

  3. SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

I have used head and shoulders for a while now and it seems to work just fine! But i have also tried some natural organic shampoos that work wonders!!! I usually trade off between using head and shoulders and or using organic ones.

  4. STRESS

Of course stress can cause a variety of things. When i’m stressed my dandruff tends to get worse. So i try to maintain my cool if i’m feeling a little over the edge.

  5. DON’T OVER WASH YOUR HAIR

It might feel like in order to get rid of all this dandruff you have to constantly wash your hair and trust me it does nothing! Of course i recommend washing it every two days def don’t wash it every day or wait a week until you do.

So there ya have it! DANDRUFF RULES 101. If you have dandruff, would love to know what other tips you have in making it better.

Much love, Laura
