South Haven 2020

Hi friends!

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these weird and difficult times! Spencer and I had exciting travel plans for summer ‘20 but since covid-19 happened we had to cancel them. When the opportunity presented itself to take a little trip with our friends, we were ALL IN. We decided to go to this cute little “beach” town called South Haven in Michigan, about 2 hrs away. After doing some research on this cute little town, I already knew I was going to enjoy my time there. If you’re new around here S and I are completely in love with California and this little town reminded us SO much of it!

Toyota was very kind to loan me a car for our road trip! They provided the most perfect car: The Highlander Platinum AWD and I just fell in LOVE! I have such a strong connection with Toyota due to the fact that I learned how to drive in one, and my first car ever was also a Toyota. They have always been such great cars for me! The Highlander Platinum was very big and spacious (it fits 7 people), and absolutely perfect for our road trip. The trunk fit ALL of the things we brought, and if you know me, I don’t pack light haha. I also really enjoyed the moon roof. It was HUGE. I’m all about views, and every time I looked up the views were just stunning. It has an 11 speaker audio system with an amp and a subwoofer. We jammed the whole way there and back. S and I don’t mess around with our music haha. It had a digital rearview mirror and it was so cool! This car was AMAZING to have. I’m currently trying to sell my mom on getting one.

We got the cutest airbnb house with a coastal vibe to it about a 10 min walk to the nearest beach. Definitely recommend renting an airbnb around this area because you pretty close to everything! It slept 14 people and had 5 bedrooms. Cute little patio to grill and chill. Overall the airbnb was really nice and cozy, other than the 2 pullout couches that were uncomfortable to sleep on and the air upstairs wasn’t really working. We went boating one of the days we were there and it was a BLAST. Being on a boat and surrounded by water is one of my all time favorite things. I love every second of it! S got to drive the boat since he was the only one that had experience in driving one and he was in his own little happy world haha. Love seeing him do things that make him happy! This trip was mainly to relax and just take some time away from crazy daily life so it was a pretty chill trip. Although a small town there is so much to do in South Haven. From Cruises, lighthouses, wineries, local bars, boating, jet skiing, beaches, bed & breakfast, restaurants, hiking, etc. If you’re planning for a cute little getaway trip this is the perfect little town.
